Zu Jesus rechter Seite wurde laut christlicher Tradition der Schächer Dismas gekreuzigt. Der auf der “guten” Seite gekreuzigte Schächer soll bußfertig gewesen sein und bekam daraufhin von Jesus das Paradies versprochen. Beide Schächer sind nicht angenagelt, sondern aufs Kreuz geflochten; Jesus wurde prophezeit: “Man wird ihm die Gebeine nicht zerschlagen” (Ps 43,20)

The crucified person on the right side (the “good” side) of Jesus is called Dismas (Acta Pilati 9,4). He asked Jesus for mercy, which he granted to him. Later Dismas was venerated as a saint and a helper in need for thieves and robbers.
