+Jesus ist bereits tot, die Lanze des Longinus hat seine Seite geöffnet. Zur Rechten steht Stephaton mit dem Ysopstab und dem mit Essig getränkten Schwamm. Maria bricht vor Schmerz zusammen, Johannes versucht, sie zu stützen. Grob gesprochen teilt das Kreuz Jesu die Tafel in Gut und Böse, was auch durch den blauen bzw. dunkel bewölkten Himmel angedeutet wird.

+Jesus is already dead, Longinus´  lance has opened his side wound. On the right stands Stephaton with the hyssop  and the vinegar sponge. Maria breaks with pain, John tries to support her. Roughly speaking, Jesus´ cross separates the figures in good and the evil, which is also suggested by the sky (blue or with dark clouds).
