Die Tafel "Christus vor dem Hohepriester" zeigt die Vorführung Jesu vor dem Hohen Rat als oberste Instanz der jüdischen Gerichtsbarkeit. In den Evangelien des Matthäus, Markus und Lukas ist die Rede von einer Versammlung mehrerer Hohepriester. Daher nimmt diese Darstellung scheinbar Bezug auf das Johannesevangelium, laut welchem Jesus zum ersten Verhör Hohepriester Hannas vorgeführt wurde.

The panel “Jesus and the High Priest” shows the arraignment of Jesus to the high council, which was the highest jewish instance of law. The gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke write about an assembly of multiple high priests. Therefore, this depiction seemingly refers to the gospel of John, where Jesus’ first questioning is done by the high priest Annas.
