Diese Szene ist von keinem der Evangelisten beschrieben, sie basiert nur auf dem Prophetenwort: Er wird die Pforten der Hölle zerschlagen “und der Schlange den Kopf zertreten” (Gen 3,15). Christus befreit Adam, Eva, Johannes den Täufer und weitere unbenannte biblische Vorväter aus der Vorhölle. Damit ist der Akt der Sündenaufhebung vollzogen.

This scene is not described by any of the evangelists, it is based only on the prophets' word: He will smash the gates of hell "and crush the serpent's head" (Gen 3:15). Christ frees Adam, Eve, John the Baptist and other unnamed Biblical forefathers from limbo. Thus, the act of the abolition of sin has been accomplished.
