James the Greater. One of the first disciples of Jesus in the New Testament and allegedly the brother of John the Apostle. Ludolph of Saxony described James as “simillimus” to Jesus (Latin for “highly alike”). Before capturing Jesus, Judas kissed his Master so that the henchmen would not arrest James erroneously. |
