Diese Figur zeigt uns im besonderen die künstlerischen Wurzeln des Malers. Mit ihrem Gewand und dem Turban ist sie eine Leitfigur in Martin Schongauers Kupferstich der Passion. Der Überrock des Schergen wurde teilweise vom Antreiber aus dessen Werk “Die große Kreuztragung” übernommen.

This figure shows particularly the artistic roots of Martinus Schwarz since his garment and turban are based on a recurring guiding figure in Martin Schongauer´s etching of the passion of Christ. The overcoat of the henchman partially has been taken over from the hurrier of Schongauer’s work “The Great Carrying of the Cross”.
