The panel <20>Jesus and the High Priest<73> shows the arraignment of Jesus before the high council, which was the highest jewish instance of law. The gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke write about an assembly of multiple high priests. Therefore, this depiction seemingly refers to the gospel of John, where Jesus<75> first questioning is done by the high priest Annas.

Hallo Welt

Hello World
This panel shows the arrest of Christ following the Judas kiss. Jesus is constrained, but seems to stoically endure the events judging by his static pose. On the left one can see Saint Peter who tried to prevent the arrest by force of arms. On the right border of the panel the traitor Judas is fleeing the scene, only to hang himself later out of despair.

On the belt of the central henchman you can see a so called kidney dagger. This weapon owes its name not to its function, but to the spherical bulges on its handle, which vaguely look like kidneys. The shown 3D-Model is on display as a part of the weapons collection of the “Stiftung Baumann” in the ceremonial hall.
