Auf dieser Tafel ist die Gefangennahme Christi zu sehen, die direkt nach dem Kuss des Judas stattfindet. Jesus ist gefesselt, scheint aber durch seine statische Haltung das Geschehen stoisch zu erdulden. Links ist Petrus zu erkennen, der mit Waffengewalt versucht hat, die Gefangennahme zu verhindern. Am rechten Bildrand flieht der Verräter Judas aus der Szenerie, um sich später aus Verzweiflung zu erhängen.

This panel shows the arrest of Christ following the Judas kiss. Jesus is constrained, but seems to stoically endure the events judging by his static pose. On the left one can see Saint Peter who tried to prevent the arrest by force of arms. On the right border of the panel the traitor Judas is fleeing the scene, only to hang himself later out of despair.

Die Tafel “Christus vor dem Hohepriester” zeigt die Vorführung Jesu vor dem Hohen Rat als oberste Instanz der jüdischen Gerichtsbarkeit. In den Evangelien des Matthäus, Markus und Lukas ist die Rede von einer Versammlung mehrerer Hohepriester. Daher nimmt diese Darstellung scheinbar Bezug auf das Johannesevangelium, demzufolge Jesus zum ersten Verhör Hohepriester Hannas vorgeführt wurde.

The panel “Jesus and the High Priest” shows the arraignment of Jesus before the high council, which was the highest jewish instance of law. The gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke write about an assembly of multiple high priests. Therefore, this depiction seemingly refers to the gospel of John, where Jesus’ first questioning is done by the high priest Annas.
